an indian wedding

A few weeks ago, I assisted to shoot an Indian wedding reception. It was my officially my first wedding and I simply wanted to do it to experience it for myself. I’m glad I did because it confirmed a few things for me.

As I arrived to the reception, most 300+ guests were already there, and I was initially pretty nervous. But very quickly, I got into the groove of things as I mingled and snapped away. And it turned out that the whole experience was sooo much fun (the colorfully-dressed guests were absolutely great). But yes, as most wedding photographers say, quite stressful, exhausting, etc…I made a mental note to carry a truckload of AA batteries for my flash if ever I shoot a wedding reception with so much dancing going on again!

Here are a few photos I took at Chris & Ritu’s wedding…I took over 600 so I really only selected my favorites here :) Click on the arrows <- -> to view at your own pace.

XO, Dina
